POCSO SECTION 25

Section 25 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 (POCSO) deals with the recording of a child's statement by a magistrate: 


The magistrate must record the child's statement as spoken by the child. 
The magistrate must record the statement in the presence of the child's parents or guardian, or any other person the child trusts. 
The magistrate can use a translator or interpreter if needed. 
The magistrate should record the statement by audio or video if possible. 
The magistrate must provide the child, their parents, or their representative with a copy of the document specified in section 207 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, after the police file their final report.
